Waiting Rooms - Deadline March 6, 2009

Think about a time you sat in a waiting room and write about the people you observed there. Who were they with? What were they doing? Saying?

  1. One day I was sick and had to go see the doctor. There were two sides of the waiting room. One was for sick people, and the other was for people who weren’t sick. I had to go to the sick side, and it was empty. My mom came over in about five minutes. About one minute more and I had to go see the doctor. It was the most boring thing I had ever done.

  2. When I sat in a waiting room I saw people working on their laptops. Sometimes I will bring one too. The people were on their emails and talking to some other people around them. I will just talk with my mom. It is sometimes fun in a waiting room.

  3. The Waiting Room
I was at the hospital waiting to see how my grandpa was doing because he had a heart attack. Then when I was waiting this music came on and my sister and I almost fell asleep. Also this old woman was there and she fell down the stairs and lost her memory of what had happened. I felt so bad for her because she was old and possibly weak. She ended up cutting her head when she fell. I was really worried about my grandpa and this made it worse. So then this lady was not helping. She was so loud because she was “talking” on her phone, but really she should have some respect for other people. Then it turns out that we couldn’t see my grandpa today because of the way he was. So then when my sister and I went back to the waiting room there was this baby that was really sick. That made me feel so bad for her. Then we had to leave so I didn’t find out what happened to the baby. So really this is what usually happens to me “EVERY TIME”I go to the hospital or wait in a waiting room.

My sister hurt her arm and we went to the doctors. While we were waiting, I observed a man in a wheelchair trying to open the door. He had not seen the button for automatic doors for the handicapped. Then the doctor came and helped him and another nurse came down and said “Shanaya Earle”. After Naya was checked out, we went to the Wilcox Pharmacy and I said “more waiting”.

Once I had to wait in a waiting room by myself for 15 min and it was so quiet. The people there would just stay still. They wouldn’t move or talk. It was creepy. This guy was waiting and he had a mustache and a beard. Also he had wrinkles all over his face. I observed these kids running all over the place. They weren’t saying anything, thing’s started to creep me out. Like the man with the mustache and those kids running around. They were staring at me. That man that I talked about was sitting next to me. When those kids were running, one of the kids came over tome and said, “Hi”. After that, my dad came out and then we left.

  6. Once, my mom was in a waiting room. I was just sitting there wanting to go. But then, I just looked at everyone to see what was wrong with them, and what they were saying. So I observed, and it didn’t seem so boring anymore. There were hurt people, sick people, and sad people. They weren’t really doing anything, but they were saying some things, like “what happened?” People were telling them what had happened, and they were also telling stories to calm them down. Well the people who were sick just wanted to go home and rest.

One day in late July, a 7 year old girl named Isabelle sat ina boring, stinky waiting room for hours. She felt like she sat there for so long that by the time the doctor got to her, she would have forgotten what she was there for! That is the story of the boring, stinky waiting room.

Ouch! The blood is gushing. I am sitting here in a boring waiting room. There is nothing to do! I'm so bored! I wish they didn't have a waiting room, then you wouldn't have to wait in a lot of pain and nearly die!!!! Waiting rooms are so boring!

Waiting rooms are boring. All you do is wait, wait, wait, and wait some more. I just want to fall asleep. Then I hear the door open and a bell ring and people talking really loud. I just want to leave.

Waiting rooms are atrocious. All you can think about is what’s going on through the doors, which you’re not aloud to be passed. The worst thing about waiting rooms, is all you do is wait… and wait…and wait some more. It’s so boring. Also it drives me nuts, when my mom and dad say, “you have to behave, were in public” and I of course always obey. I really hate when they finally come out and I can see it coming when they are about to say, “You were so good waiting for us to get done here” Even though you want to say “I hate this place, why did we have to come?” you can’t because were still in public.
