This blog was created to give CES students information about the YWP prompts. Students from CES may submit their writing here to get feedback from their peers and when they are ready, may turn it over for submission to the YWP site.
The YWP web site, www.youngwritersproject.org, where registered students post writing, respond to prompts, receive and give respectful feedback, read tips on writing, post audio stories, engage in online workshops and discuss books, news and life.
When I hear the name Africa I think of animals. I love to think about the lions and their cubs running around in the sun, the elephants grazing in the sun all day long washing themselves off with water because they can't take the heat. I also think about how all those kids in Africa are sweating and running around barefoot because they don't have enough money to buy shoes. I feel badly for the kids, but I know that the animals are having fun.
ReplyDeleteHave you learned or do you know anything about Africa? What I think of when people talk about Africa is unlucky and lucky people.
ReplyDeleteI think of unlucky people because I know of many people that can't afford to feed themselves, let alone their own children. Those families have to work endless hours to make somewhere around a dollar! This is not even enough to supporst themselves.
But I also think of lucky people, those whose families and communities that were helped by people that really care about them and instead of letting them suffer, give them what they can and let them know they care.
A desert full of life
ReplyDeleteFacing unknown danger
Racing with the wild and time
Imaginary oasis calls from afar
Children without mothers
A desert full of life
A beautiful place to live
ReplyDeleteFar away from all your problems
Running with all the animals
Interacting with the lions
Chasing all the birds
And calling all the animals
