This blog was created to give CES students information about the YWP prompts. Students from CES may submit their writing here to get feedback from their peers and when they are ready, may turn it over for submission to the YWP site.
The YWP web site, www.youngwritersproject.org, where registered students post writing, respond to prompts, receive and give respectful feedback, read tips on writing, post audio stories, engage in online workshops and discuss books, news and life.
Peter G/ CES There is one time when I really wish I just had a little bit of luck. It was on my birthday which was one month ago. My grandma, papa, omi, and opa came to celabrate my birthday, and my grandma had brought six lottery tickets, and of course my sister had to have three of them, so I only had three. But that is still a lot to be thankful for. In the end, we did not have a winning ticket, that really bummed me out. That is one time I really wanted to have a little bit of luck.
ReplyDeleteDrake CES, One day, I was fishing down by the river on the first day of fishing season. The action was slow but I was having fun. I had a can of worms next to me when suddenly I kicked the can into the water. Not thinking at all, I dove in after the can. I got out after a while just to find that there was nothing in the can. Oh yeah, the water was frezzing cold too!!! I mean it was not so bad until I remembered that my Dad and I had to walk nearly a mile and a half back to my house! So, I learned a little lesson that day,...the water was very cold in that river!
ReplyDeleteKodi CES Let me tell you about a time I've had luck. One summer I was playing tennis against my 12th grade cousin and he hit the ball about 10-15 mph, at me. The ball was headed straight toward my head and it was coming quickly, so I tilted my racket and moved sideways. The ball hit the racket. At this point in the game, I had the advantage of the deuce. The ball went over with a curve and it hit the ground. He went after it. When he hit it back, he fell, so I hit it aver to the other side of the court. He got up and ran toward it, and he swung, missed, and the ball hit the ground for a double bounce. I won, and the score was 10-5.

One day I thought it was a good idea to climb a young tree. It was about 12 feet and not that wide. So I climbed it and stayed there for awhile. Then I heard cracking and I wondered what it was and suddenly the whole tree broke and I started falling under the tree because when it broke it turned so I had to get on top of the tree. And so I quickly got around the tree and luckily I fell on the tree instead of the other way around. I call that my lucky day.
ReplyDeleteOne day we went out to eat at Applebees. We sat down at the booth and the waitress asked, "what would you like to drink?"
ReplyDeleteI said, "water please."
She went to get the drinks then came back. I looked under the table and found a four leaf clover! I picked it up and showed the waitress.
She said, "we hid a four leaf clover and since you found it, you have won a free trip to Hawaii and a limo ride!"
One day I don't know how, but I was going forty-five miles per hour on a dirt bike. Then out of nowhere, I ran right into an electric fence. The bad part about it is that it was on and it wrapped around my neck for at least twenty seconds. Some people say that I could have broken my neck and died. I am very lucky that I didn't break my neck and die.
ReplyDeleteOnce I went on a camping trip. When we set up our camper I went to see some of my friends. We played pirates around the fire place. Our parents tolds us not to but we did not listen. When I was sword fighting, I lost my balance and fell into the fire. I was lucky because I only hit the hot ring of metal around the fire. When I got up, my leg felt a stinging pain, so did my hands. If only I listened to my parents, I would never have gotten burned. That was the unluckiest day of my life. I never played pirates again around a fire.
